When Should I Start Taking My Child To The Dentist?
A survey of about 500 parents of children under the age of 12 years has indicated that half of the parents did not take their children to the dentist on a regular basis.
Additionally, only one in five parents thought that their children should visit the dentist after developing their milk teeth. Researchers in the UK think that explains why about 30 percent of children have tooth decay before getting to 5 years of age.
Children should be regularly taken to the dentist. It is recommended that children visit the dentist at least once before the age of two years. As preventative measure, children should be encouraged to brush with fluoride containing toothpaste.
