Regular Consumption of Sports Drinks Is a Risk to Children Health

School children are attracted to the sports drinks due to their sugary taste, their availability, and their low prices. But those sports drinks are having a negative affect on their health.

Children should be drinking milk and water which can sufficiently hydrate them during and after physical activity.

Scientific evidence has indicated that consumption of the sports drinks is associated with an increase in incidences of tooth decay and increased cardiometabolic risk.

Russ Ladwa, chair of the British Dental Association’s Health and Science Committee, says that the sports drinks are also to blame for the increased risk of dental problems in young footballers.
