You could be a teeth grinder if you have a habit of clenching the face if you are angry or anxious. Teeth grinding refers to the conscious and involuntary grinding of the upper teeth against the lower teeth. It is also referred to as bruxism and covers the clenching of the jaw.
Grinding is more common at night whereas jaw clenching is more common during the day. Teeth grinding is estimated to happen in one in every ten people and is more common in people between 25 and 44 years. It results in receding gums, worn out teeth, facial pain, and increased teeth sensitivity.
