Brush or Floss? Which Comes First?
Only 40 percent of Americans floss at least once every day compared to 70 percent who brush their teeth at least twice daily. The Delta Dental survey also reveals that 20 percent of Americans never floss despite the strong association between daily flossing and good oral health. Flossing should come first because plaque particles or food debris that have been removed can then be brushed away.
